Be aware – companies being scammed by e-record.co.uk letter
Dean was back in the LBC studios this week on Clive Bull’s Consumer Hour Show talking about the latest scams, plus answering consumer rights questions from listeners.
This show talks about an online scam which involves newly formed businesses who have made a recent entry to Companies House. Some companies are being targeted with a scam letter from www.e-record.co.uk. The letter states that if you fail to pay a fee your company will not be entered into the e-record.co.uk database.
The scam was highlighted by 2014 Britain’s Got Talent Finalist, Lucy Kay who called LBC to explain how she had been scammed.
The advice from Dean is to be vigilant and not to pay anything. The letter has nothing to do with Companies House so newly formed companies do not need to pay.
